London: England on Wednesday sets 294 runs target on loss of seven wickets against Sri Lanka in International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions trophy at the Oval.
Earlier Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field first. England have got a confident start with skipper Alastair Cook and Ian Bell. First wicket of England falls at the score of 48 when Rangina Herath caught Ian Bell leg before wicket (lbw). While skipper Alastair Cook and Jonathan Trott showed some resistance on the crease. Alastair Cook made 56 with Jonathan Trott’s 76 runs and Joe Root quick 68 to get England a respetable total of 293 runs on loss of seven wickets.
Lasith Malinga and Rangina Herath took 2 wickets respectively while Nuwan Kulasekara finishes of its spell with 1 wicket for 42 runs.
