LOS VEGAS: Plans are afoot to build a mega-resort that would house the world’s largest shopping mall, the world’s largest Ferris wheel, sports arenas and theme parks — and this time, it’s not in the Middle East.
Bahamas-based Eurasia Resorts has released details on its next project that will transform 1,200 hectares of space not far off the Las Vegas strip into a mammoth complex that will include 39 boutique hotels, six non-gaming hotels, a six million square foot-convention center and a 15 million foot retail space.
Upon completion, the shopping center would dethrone The Dubai Mall which currently holds the title of being the biggest in the world.
Drawings for the resort also include plans to build an 800 foot-tall (244 m) Ferris wheel which would trump the much ballyhooed Dubai Eye which has yet to be built but is billed as the tallest in the world. It’s slated to open in The Dubai Mall in 2015.
Other attractions planned for the expansive resort include three PGA-grade golf courses, an XTREME Sports World, a private jet airport and pavilions featuring food, products and entertainment.
The company expects to break ground late next year.
