ISLAMABAD: Youm-e-Takbeer is being observed across Pakistan on Tuesday to commemorate the atomic explosions carried out to become 1st in Islamic countries and 7th in the World to acquire nuclear capability.
To strengthening its national defence, Pakistan tested its first atomic bomb on May 28, 1998 in the tenure of then time prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
The nuclear tests was a befitting response to India’s initiative of testing nukes a few days before on May 11 and 13 the same year.
When Pakistan conducted it first nuclear explosion, the western powers slapped severe economic sanctions over Pakistan.
