LONDON: Adidas has launched a new soccer cleat (or football boot if you prefer) that the company claims will revolutionize your game, increase agility, protect you from injury and give you more energy, all while tracking your fitness stats.
The Adidas Nitrocharge features a yellow strip on the forefoot, dubbed Energysling, which is a high-elastic upper element for added agility in your turns and sidecuts. Also, the shoe features the Energypulse on the forefront sole, which Adidas says enhances push-off and gives you greater energy returns for your runs.
Other technical features include the Sprintframe outsole with TRAXION 2.0 stud placement, which balances traction, stability and light weight. The boot also features a protection mesh layer around the foot and protection pads around the most sensitive tackle zones such as the Achilles tendon.
Plus like the Adidas f50, the Nitrocharge also includes a dedicated space for the brand’s miCoach speed cell to track fitness stats such as speed, distance, and other data. The device pairs wirelessly with an iPhone or iPod to upload that data for analysis and sharing.
The cleat is available for purchase from June and will be worn by players Daniele De Rossi (A.S. Roma), Dani Alves (Barcelona), Ezequiel Lavezzi (Paris Saint Germain) and UEFA Champions League Finalist Javi Martinez (FC Bayern Munich).
