Islamabad: Following a ‘historic’ defeat of her party, former information minister and now ambassador to United States Sherri Rehman resigns from her post.
Foreign Office of Pakistan in its daily briefing informed that Sherry has resigned from her post. However, it didn’t mention the reason.
Sherry was posted as an ambassador to US following Hussain Haqqani by Pakistan Peoples Party led government. After elections last week, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz has emerged as the leading party.
It is likely that PML-N will appoint its own ambassador in US, which has keen interest in working with future government.
