Lahore: Following decisions of former premier Yousuf Raza Gillani, provincial head of Pakistan Peoples Party Manzoor Ahmed Watto has resigned from the party seat.
Announcing his resignation from seat of president of Punjab PPP, the former ruling party, Watto accept the responsibility of historic defeat of his party.
It was the worst ever result after formation of PPP about 45 years back when the party was virtually wiped out from the largest province of the country, Pakistan.
Earlier, accepting responsibility of the defeat, Yousuf Raza Gillani had resigned from post of vice chairman of PPP.
Punjab governor Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmud had also resigned from his post saying ‘next government will assign its own governor.’
