Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain on Thursday demanded interim government to immediately arrest the culprits behind the continuous killings of MQM activists across Sind province.
The MQM chief asked the caretaker and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as to why the killings of the MQM activists continue unabated in the province?
“Despite assurances from the caretaker government, MQM activists were killed in the city,” he said.
He further asked that if MQM would launch a protest against the killings, what will happen to the elections in the province.
Martyr relatives are asking question from us that how long they have to pass through such circumstances, he added.
Meanwhile, the party’s coordination committee has announced to observe mourning day on Friday over the killings.
The committee said that black flags would be hoisted on the party offices while the transport would be allowed to move freely on the roads.
