MUZAFFARABAD: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has said that Kashmiri nation cannot be defeated and the country [Pakistan] will continue its diplomatic and ethical support to the people of the disputed area.
“Resolution of Kashmir issue is necessary for sustainable peace in the South Asian region,” he said during his address to lawmakers in Azad Jammu and Kashmir Assembly and added that the main objective of his visit was to show solidarity with the people of the region.
President Zadari said that the democratic government had taken several step pertaining to the Kashmir issue, adding that participation of local people was necessary for the resolution of the issue.
He criticized the international community for not taking up the issue seriously saying Kashmiris are fighting for independence and their rights for last 60 year but the world did not adopt the issue.
He also mentioned the hanging of Afzal Guru’s hanging in his speech and said that the execution the leader had increased anger among the people of the conflicted region.
