Islamabad: The three-day anti-polio campaign will begin in Pakistan from Monday (today). Polio teams will vaccinate under five-year old children.
Prime Minister Monitoring cell and provincial ministries have made all arrangements for the campaign.
District Health Officer (DHO) Islamabad said that 347 polio teams were formed for the campaign. Thirty one fixed and 26 transit points are setup in rural areas, Dr. Azhar added.
“The teams will immunize119234 children across the Pakistan during the campaign,” he said adding that the teams would get police safety as per security plan.
According to FATA officials, More than 0.2 million children will be deprived of the vaccination due to the exemption of North Waziristan and South Waziristan from the campaign.
Meanwhile, IG Punjab Aftab Sultan has conveyed a handout to CCPOs and DPOs for providing security to the polio teams.
The handout stated that policemen from the area police station should accompany the teams to avoid any mishap.
