Islamabad: Chairman of Higher Education Commission (HEC), Javed Leghari said that the deadline of verification for degrees of former parliamentarians has expired with 106 degrees remaining unverified.
Talking to media representative in Islamabad, the HEC Chairman said that almost 77 former lawmakers submitted their degrees for the verification.
On the query that what action would be taken against the lawmakers who failed to submit their documents, Leghari said that their responsibility was to verify the degrees.
“All details will be conveyed to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and it’s the responsibility of the commission to take action against the lawmakers,” he said.
He further said that the verification process would continue for the lawmakers who have failed to submit some necessary attachments with documents.
“Those who have not submitted necessary attachments will be able to submit their remaining documents after the expiry of the deadline,” he added.
