Finalind’s Nokia with the collaboration of United States’ Microsoft is going to be a threat for American giant Apple and South-Korean technology big gun Samsung?
Windows based Lumia Smart phones are capturing iPhone 5, iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S 4’s market share?
These two questions are the centre point of discussion which has been going on in different board rooms of the technological sphere.
It is now clear and accepted that the future belongs to Smartphone instead of old cell phones but the rapid technology changes and consumer insights were the real problem for new players. With the launch of Windows 8 based Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 Nokia and Microsoft proved that both the companies have something extraordinary in their pockets.
Currently Apple’s iPhone 5 and upcoming iPhone 6 are in a strong position with strong and loyal consumers’ base while Korean tech giant Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 are doing the same with competitive advantage of features, aggressive marketing and strong supply lines in the global market.
Interesting wide Apps platform, iOS as a home operating system, a risk-free successful business model and last but not the least financial reserves are other unique points of U.S. technology leader Apple.
Samsung is attracting the market with the help of Google’s open sourced Android platform which obviously based on a huge consumer data; therefore its providing strong market insight like no one else is able to do.
Unique features and latest technology with the blend of creativity is another strong base for the Korean mobile manufacturer.
When anyone tries to assume or to predict the position for Finland’s Nokia and American Microsoft’s joint venture Lumia, he or she may feel confusion or difficulty to understand the future of Window’s based Smartphone. While within the Nokia, the situation seems different.
Old player of the mobile phone industry but a bit newbie in the smartphone world, Nokia claims that Unique Camera, familiar operating system of the Microsoft’s Windows, travel friendly charging technology and separate speakers can be the unique selling points for the venture.
At the same time, Nokia’s weakest point is absence of in-house monetizing service like Apple’s iAd and Google’s Adsense on Android, being used by the Samsung’s Galaxy series. You may answer that Nokia can use Google’s Adsense on its operating system to attract developers or corporate world but when we consider no-food-is-free-food example then it may become a big risk for Lumia’s manufacturer.
The is no doubt that Nokia’s inclusion in the Smartphone industry is in the benefit of consumer but the market share which Lumia can be capture will be decided after quality assurance, positioning as lifestyle cellular brand, apps network, unique innovative features based on latest technology and price variation in comparsion wit comparision with Apple and Samsung.
