HTC president delighted to see ‘no innovation’ in Samsung Galaxy S4

London: The president of HTC North America – Mike Woodward has told the Business Insider that the Samsung Galaxy S4 looks like repetition of the Galaxy S3.

He said “We were pleased to see no innovation in the design itself.”

Earlier this week, Samsung proudly unveiled the Galaxy S4 – the latest in its hugely successful line of Android-powered smartphones. With a 4.99-inch HD screen, Android 4.2, Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa processor, 2GB of RAM and a host of amazing new features which are exclusive to the phone, it’s arguably one of the best – if not the best – smartphone on the market right now.

Woodward went on to criticize the Galaxy S4’s slew of new software features as gimmicky, and said users probably won’t be interested in them.

So according to this president, the consumer will love things like Sense 5 on HTC One that pulls in live content from partners like ESPN and social networks like Facebook and Twitter. The One also has an all metal and glass design, while the Galaxy S4 stuck with a plastic construction.

However, Business Insider has termed Woodward’s word as “odd” because the things he mentioned depend on personal preference.

“I think Samsung is trying to overwhelm us with money and marketing and then pushing multiple features out there,” Woodward said.

He admits HTC cannot compare with Samsung for the marketing budget, but it will be a positive move “once sold more devices.”
