Karachi: At least one person was killed and another injured after Rangers personnel opened fire on a motorcyclists in Lyari, one of the old area of Pakistan’s business hub, Karachi.
According to sources, the personnel tried to stop a motorcyclist during snap checking and on refusal opened fire, killing one of them at the spot while the other was critically injured.
The incident was reported in Bakra Peri area of Lyari. The deceased have been identified as Shaukat, 40, who was a resident of Lyari.
The body and injured have been shifted to a local hospital in the city. Nothing was recovered from the motorcyclist and they were only trying to avoid arrest in pillion riding case.
It is to be mentioned here that the pillion riding has been banned for indefinite period in the city and the law enforcement authorities have been directed to arrest the people.
