Muzaffarabad: The Pakistani army is investigating the alleged torture of a youth that led to his death last week in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, an official said on Thursday.
It is to be mentioned here that a 27-year-old Kashmiri youngster Ali Murtaza was allegedly killed by law enforcement agencies in Kotli, AJK.
Family sources told The News Tribe, “Ali Murtaza was kidnapped three days ago and government officials handed over his body last night and forced his family to bury him in night and not to shout on this issue. “
“Some sources told us that Intelligence Agency took him with them. They said that Ali was not much educated nor involved in any political or religious activity,” said family members.
“We don’t know why they took him and send him back with tortured dead body,” sources added.
The Pakistani army has launched an inquiry to investigate the death but a senior military official, who requested anonymity, denied any army involvement in the incident.
“An inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the facts. Some doubts were raised by the local people regarding this incident, so we are conducting a probe to clear that doubt,” said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
