Islamabad: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday announced Rs 1 million for the family of Geo News journalist Malik Mumtaz, killed by miscreants in Miranshah area of North Waziristan, an area bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan.
It is to be mentioned here that Malik Mumtaz, the journalist, was associated with Geo News and he was shot dead at Chasmapul area of the town when he was coming back to his home in his vehicle.
Pakistan Army and banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), who have presence in the area, had denied their hand in the killing of the journalist.
