Islamabad: Former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Mushahid Hussain have been elected as the president and the general secretary unopposed respectively in the intra-party election of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).
It seems that the leadership of the PML-Q, formed in former President Pervez Musharaf’s era, has no opposition inside the party as earlier it chose Deputy Prime Minister Pervez Ellahi as Punjab president.
In a general council of the PML-Q on Thursday, Shujaat and Mushahid Hussain faced no opposition and elected as the president and the general secretary respectively.
Moreover, Jaffar Khan Mandokhel, Syed Qasim Shah, Aleem Adil Khan, Haji Naeemullah and Mirza Hussain were elected as the party’s presidents in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Fata and Gilgit-Baltistan respectively.
