Quetta: Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) Leader Azizullah Hazara on Sunday gave a 48 hours ultimatum to government to arrest the culprits behind Kirani road blast as death toll reached 80.
The powerful bomb in a packed bazaar in Hazara town, an area dominated by Shiites, on Saturday killed at least 80 people and injured over 170 others.
In a statement on Sunday, Azizullah Hazara said that the community would stage sit-in outside the Balochistan High Court (BHC) on daily basis if the elements behind the killing of Shiites not arrested in a given deadline. He added that they would also stage protest in Europe, Australia and outside the United Nations.
The HDP leader demanded the government to make arrangement to shift the injured of the blast to Karachi and outside the country for better treatment.
At least 92 people were killed and 121 wounded on January 10 when two suicide bombers blew themselves up at a crowded snooker club in an area of Quetta city dominated by the community.
It was Pakistan’s worst sectarian bombing and came after what Human Rights Watch (HRW) said was the deadliest year on record for the country’s Shiites, with more than 400 people killed in 2012, mostly in drive-by shootings.
Azizullah Hazara said that killing of Hazara people was not in favour of Pakistan, adding that only targeted operation against the sectarian extremist could control the situation.
