Dubai: A Syrian national woman, Ranim Amir Barmada, on Monday gave birth to five children at a hospital in Dubai.
The 29 year-old Ranim and her husband, 33-year-old Hasan Munzer Barmada, were shocked to find out about having five babies.
Dr Hassan Ali, Chief of Saudi-German Hospitals Group who was one of four doctors present at the surgery, said that all the previous ultrasound scans only showed four fetuses, but during the operation we were delighted to find a fifth baby.
The mother and all five babies, two girls and three boys, were recovering well and we would be offering all possible support to the family during their stay at the hospital, he added.
According to consultant OB-gynecologist at Saudi German Hospital Dubai, Dr Khaled Kouteich the children were born prematurely. “They are currently at neonatal unit of the hospital and in a stable condition,” he said.
The family also showed their hopes to receive support from the government.
