Islamabad: Pakistan’s central bank on Friday kept policy rate unchanged in its monetary policy for next two months.
It was highly expected that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will keep the policy rate unchanged at 9.5 per cent in the upcoming monetary policy.
Yaseen Anwar, Governor of the State Bank, announced the monetary policy statement for the months of February and March at a press conference held at the central bank’s premises.
The governor said that they had observed an increase in inflation since November 2012, adding that the country had also received record remitences.
The State Bank had cut policy rate by cumulative 2.5 percentage points since August 2012.
