Islamabad: Federal tax ombudsman secretary Dr Nazir Saeed informed Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim on Wednesday that 70 per cent of parliamentarians had not paid their taxes for 2011.
Saeed informed the CEC during a meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today.
The letter which had earlier been sent to the election commission recommends that the ECP should declare the submission of tax details mandatory for candidates seeking to contest elections, along with their nomination papers.
