Islamabad: Pakistan’s acting President Nayyar Hussain Bukhari has summoned the joint session of parliament, National Assembly and Senate, on February 6, 2013.
According to presidential spokesman Farhat Ullah Babar, the joint session convened on February 6 would begin at 5 pm.
“The session is summoned on the recommendation of Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf,” he added.
President Asif Ali Zardari is visiting United Kingdom to attend the trilateral Summit between Britain‚ Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Besides President Asif Ali Zardari‚ Afghan President Hamid Karzai and British Prime Minister David Cameron will attend the summit on the regional peace.
It is to be mentioned here that acting president is a temporary post provided by the Constitution of Pakistan. In the case where a president’s term of office is terminated early or during the absence of the president, the Chairman of the Senate assumes the office.
