Peshawar: Inauguration session of Youth Provincial Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (YPA-KPK) started yesterday in old assembly hall Peshawar.
YPA-KPK is supported by the government of KPK and Pakistan Institute of Legislature Development and Transparency (PILDAT).
The session was presided over by ex-speaker KPK assembly Abdul Akbar Khan accompanied with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MPA Shazia Tehmas and other government officials. Khan took membership oath from the selected members of the assembly.
Secretary YPA-KPK Jawdat Bilal briefed the new selected members regarding the proceeding and function of the assembly.
On the occasion special secretary of the provincial government Attaullah Khan also said by welcoming the new members of the assembly that they were the cream youth of the nation which were selected as member of YPA-KPK.
In the session YPA-KPK parties blue and green nominated their candidates for the slot of youth chief minister, youth opposition leader and youth deputy speaker.
Green party nominated Fahad Sohrab as the youth opposition leader from green party and Izharullah was elected as a chief whip of the said party.
Ascertainment will be made today on the second day of the session.
Abdul Akbar Khan who was speaker of the yesterday’s session adjourned the youth house till today.
First session of the YPA-KPK will be carried-on for three days till 26 of this month.
