Srinagar: Indian-administered Kashmir officials are warning residents to be prepared for a possible nuclear attack.
They are telling people to collect food and water for two weeks and start building bomb-proof basements, the Associated Press reported.
However, there is no official reason for the concern yet.
The report came amid Pakistan and India are accusing each other of soldiers’ killings along a cease-fire line.
Kashmir police published the advisory Monday in the Greater Kashmir newspaper.
The notice advised people to build bomb shelters with toilets and stockpile food. It also provided advice on how to survive attacks with chemical and biological weapons.
There is no response from the local authorities yet.
