Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Governor Barrister Masud Kausar directed the secretary higher education department, Farah Hamid, on Thursday to consult all stakeholders to decide shifting of campuses from one single location.
He was chairing a meeting of a newly elected cabinet of Peshawar university teachers association (PUTA) while Peshawar University (PU) vice chancellor Prof Dr Qibla Ayaz was also present on the occasion.
“It’s time to give breathing space to PU. Five universities on a single campus create problems needs to be addressed now,” he added. He directed the secretary to submit a comprehensive report to the chancellor in a month’s time.
Governor KP further said that “decision would be taken in the best interest of the province”.
Addressing the PUTA executive, the governor stressed the teaching community especially universities to raise awareness about tolerance and appreciated PUTA for its role in promoting liberal thoughts in society and literary activities on the campus.
