New York: Police say a 17-year-old girl held up a bank by threatening tellers with what she claimed was a bomb detonator.
The Syracuse Post-Standard reports that Cheyenne Brandon walked into an Alliance Bank branch Wednesday morning, holding a device attached to a cord.
Court records say she told the tellers she had a bomb and “was going to blow everyone up” unless they turned over their money. Two tellers gave her a total of $1,395.
Police tell the newspaper an officer saw Brandon running into a nearby park and caught her, recovering the money. There was no bomb.
Brandon is being held on a first-degree robbery charge.
