Islamabad: Around 42 per cent of Pakistanis believe that economic growth should be the most important goal of the country for the next ten years, a survey has revealed.
In a Gallup Pakistan survey, a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “People sometimes talk about what the goals of this country should be for the next ten years. Would you please say which of the following goals you consider to be the most important?”
Responding to this, 42 per cent claim that a high level of economic growth is the most important goal for our country, 38 per cent believe ensuring the country has strong defense forces is a major goal, 14 per cent believe that most important goal to achieve is giving people more say about how things are done at their jobs and in their communities whereas 5 per cent believe that the most important goal is to try and make our cities and country side more beautiful.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1200 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during October 04, 2012 – October 19, 2012.
