New York: Not many will doubt that one of the most sought after keyword on Internet is “sex”. The word sex is the most popular keyword used by the Indian people living in Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, New Delhi and Calcutta during searches on Google.
This is according to Google Trends, a public web facility that shows how often a particular search-term is entered relative to the total search-volume across various regions of the world, and in various languages.
According to research carried out by The News Tribe (as of December 27, 2012), India’s Pune tops the charts for people Googling the term ‘sex’ in 2012 with 100 points.
In fact, the top 8 slots are all Indian cities – Pune is followed by Bangalore (100), Chennai(96), New Delhi (94), Calcutta (86), Mumbai (80), Ahmedabad (78) and Hyderabad (75) in that order.
The other two cities in the top 10 lists include Hanoi (75), Thanh Pho Ho Chi Min (72), both in Vietnam.
In terms of countries which topped the lists, Sri Lanka is at no 1 with India at second-placed.
Papua New Guinea is at 3 with Ethiopia at 4. Bangladesh is ranked at no 5 along with Pakistan at No 6.
