Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selection committee headed by Chief Selector Iqbal Qasim will announce the Pakistan cricket team for India tour on Monday with rumors circulating in the media that all rounder Shahid Afridi might lose his place in the team.
There is an abuzz been going around for the last few days regarding Afridi’s ruling out from the national team, touring India late this December, because of the disinterest being shown by One Day International captain Misbah ul Haq and T20 skipper Mohammad Hafeez in his favour, local Urdu daily reports.
According to the report, Misbah and Hafeez show their support and interest for Afridi on the media but they appear least interested in the selection of flamboyant all rounder in Board official meetings.
Now, the selection of Shahid Afridi depends highly upon the vote of Coach Dav Whatmore and Chairman PCB Zaka Ashraf, the report adds.
It has been reported that the selectors have selected the team after consultation with Coach, both the captains and will announce the team in a press conference most probably on Monday.
According to sources, opener Ahmed Shehzad, batsman Haris Sohail, Umar Amin, left arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar and fast bowler Mohammad Irfan are expected to get a key opportunity to play for the National team while Shoaib Malik and Wahab Riaz might also get selected.
