Lahore: Star studded Lahore Lions stormed into the Final of fascinating Faysal Bank T20 Cup crushing talented Bahalwalpur Lions in the first semi final of the tournament played here at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.
Lions batting line-up, dominated by action packed Ahmed Shehzad’s century innings left nothing for the first timer Stags to earn the place in the final of domestic T20.
Lahore, losing the toss and forced to bat first, lost their first, Nasir Jamshed, at 41, making skipper’s Hafeez way into the field. Mohammad Hafeez (65) and Ahmed Shehzad (107) struck the crease, building a hefty partnership of 96, stretching the score to 137.
Umar Akmal also played a handy innings of 28 in just 19 balls, reaching the total at 211. Stags pacer Kamran Hussain took 4 of 23.
Chasing an enormous target, Stags looked nervy right from the start, losing first wicket of the very first ball, Razzab bowling out Hamid Ali’s middle stump.
However, Imranullah Talha showed some resilience scoring 43 of 32. Moinudding scored quick 33 but could not lead the team to victory, getting 51 runs short of the chase.
Ahmed Shehzad was declared the undisputed player of the match.
