Islamabad: Teachers, students and people belonging to civil society marched a rally on Thursday protesting against appointment of new Executive Director (ED) in Higher Education Commission (HEC), said sources.
Sources said that protestors marched from china chowk to āDā chowk demanding to stop political influence in the privileged institution.
They said that HEC was an autonomous body and government must stop influencing it in order to honor its sovereignty. If government doesnāt reverse its actions we will take the protest to the next level, sources added.
Earlier Establishment division appointed Qamaruzzaman as ED HEC but Chairman declared those appointments null and void.
