Islamabad: An overwhelming majority of politicians felicitated the verdict of Supreme Court of Pakistan to conduct door to door voter endorsement through Pakistan Army and Frontier Constabulary.
Expressing his views, Awami National Party leader, Zahid Khan said the decision was appreciable. Jamat-e-Islami Karachi chief, Muhammad Hussain Mehanti said the decision was a ‘victory of common people’.
Pervez Rasheed of PML-N said it was an obligation to aware people about holding transparent elections. Imtiaz Sheikh of Muslim League the move would work well for revival of democracy.
The apex had issued a decision today, asking Election Commission of Pakistan to ensure free and fair elections in the country.
Chief Election Commissioner, Fakhruddin G. Ibrahim said the will comply with the directions of the apex court to hold elections under the monitoring of Pakistan Army. On the other hand, provincial information minister, Sharjeel Memon said the campaign in such a large city is a difficult task, adding that it can cause complications.
