A United Airlines on the way to Newark from Houston made an emergency landing in New Orleans because of a mechanical issue.
The airline confirmed the diversion of Flight 1146 to New Orleans and said in a statement that it “will work with Boeing to review the diversion and determine the cause”, according to Chron.com.
The brand-new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, carrying 174 customers and 10 crew members, landed safely in New Orleans.
“The Boeing 787 aircraft landed safely and without incident,” United said in a statement. “We are re-accommodating the customers on a different aircraft to Newark.”
