Lahore: Despite resumption of gas supply to CNG stations in Sindh and parts of Punjab, the CNG Owners Association has refused to resume their operation.
The association’s spokesman said that they could not sell gas at the current price and have decided to keep close their stations.
He added that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has shift the entire burden on the ‘station owners’ – which he according to him, was sheer injustice.
A tussle is going on between the CNG stations’ owners and the government over the former’s disagreement on current gas prices. Relevant authorities are expected to announce a new tariff for the utility within few days.
Large queues of vehicles were scene at number of stations providing the gas in Karachi and the traffic jams were also observed on the surrounding road.
