Islamabad: Meeting of the Board of Advanced Studies & Research (BASR) 2012 of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) was held on Tuesday.
President IIUI Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh chaired the meeting. Prof. Dr. Sahibzada Sajid ur Rehman, Vice President (AF&P), Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed, Vice President (Academics) and Shagufta Haroon, Director (Academics) were also present on the occasion. The meeting was attended by all the members of the Board.
Dr. Ahmad Yousuf in his short speech said that while selecting topics for research the scholars should kept in view the Muslim Ummah as well as academic level of the university because the research work is the only parameter to determine the status of the university. He said that research work should weigh through standard rather than masses. Dr. Al-Draiweesh thanked the board members and appreciated their role to guide students regarding their research work.
Research proposals of number of MA, MPhil and PhD scholars were discussed during the meeting and decisions were taken accordingly.
