Rawalpindi: A newborn baby was subjected to rat bites at the Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi, a metropolitan of Pakistan.
The newborn was just a day old at the time of the rat bites which took place in the Gynecology ward of the hospital. The rat bites are visible on the lips, cheeks, nose and other areas of the newborn’s body.
Deputy Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Azhar Farooque said if such an incident had taken place an investigation would be conducted and concerned staff would be questioned.
It is to be mentioned here that the medical facilities at the hospitals across Pakistan are not exemplary and such incidents are frequent in the country.
