Karachi: Sindh Inspector GeneralĀ (IG) of Police Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari on Wednesday said police has arrested ten members of banned outfits in last two days.
The IG was talking to media in provincial police headquarter of Sindh at inauguration ceremony of forensic lab for investigation purposes.
He said that there was a threat of terrorism in mourning procession during Muharram. āPolice have declared 87 areas sensitive and devised a comprehensive security plan to counter terrorism,ā said the IG.
Answering a question regarding current unrest in the city, Fayyaz said police had raided more than 65 locations in last two days and arrested ten members of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). “Culprits have confessed killings of 47 people.”
The IG also said nothing could be said for sure about presence of Taliban in the city.
