Islamabad: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari Tuesday said that the militants were enemies of Pakistan and Afghanistan and the two neighbouring countries should work together to eliminate these terror elements.
While meeting a delegation of Afghan High Peace Council headed by its chairman Salahuddin Rabbani, the president Zardari said that the peace could prevail in the region with the support of Afghan leadership and people.
According to presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar, the president also discussed the issue of cross border shelling by Afghan forces inside the Pakistani territory.
The meeting also agreed to devise methods in order to avoid incidents triggering tensions on both sides.
