Islamabad: Pakistan government for the first time after Mumbai attacks has admitted that the attack was conspired from the Pakistani land and training camps of Pakistan-based banned militant outfit Lashkar-i-Taiba (LeT) were used in the attack.
The revelation came after five CID officials, while giving their testimony in front of anti-terrorist court in Islamabad, admitted that training camps of LeT were used in training the militants, who carried out a massacre in Indian business hub Mumbai, killing at least 168 people including 28 foreign nationals.
“Lashkar-i-Taiba had training camps in Mansehra, Khairpur and other parts of the country, where the militants got the training to execute deadly attack in Mumbai,” they said adding that the camps were soon closed after attacks on Mumbai.
The CID officers revealed that the militants entered Mumbai via Pakistani port city of Karachi.
The trial of seven Pakistani men, including Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi is continuing at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
