Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday hearing petitions pertaining unscheduled loadshedding directed Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) to submit detailed report regarding the steps taken by the authority to control the breakdown and adjourned the hearing of the case till 16 November.
During hearing, Khawaja Tariq Raheem, the counsel of the Wapda, told the court that the steps were being taken to stop electricity theft to facilitate consumers.
The lawyer also said that the loadshedding became compulsion due to theft, adding that the grid stations system was being computerised to control the unscheduled breakdown.
“Distribution companies will be provided the police teams to take action against the thieves.” Khawaja said.
Later, the court directed the Wapda to submit regarding the measures on next hearing.
