Jamshoro: The University of Sindh Jamshoro has conducted pre-entry test for admissions in various 57 disciplines of Bachelors’ Degree Programme for the session 2013 at arts faculty building, in which over 12000 candidates appeared.
According to details, for admissions on 6500 seats, a large number of nearly 13300 candidates submitted admission forms out of them over 12000 male and female students participated in the pre-entry test to try their luck for seeking admissions in the University. In this connection, Director Admission Bashir Ahmed Shaikh told that 13300 candidates submitted their forms out of them 2500 female candidates also consisted of.
He said there were 10800 male candidates who filled the admission forms and a vast majority of them rushed to the venue of test for appearing in it but few students remained absent perhaps owing to being succeeded in seeking admissions in other universities.
On the other hand, the apt and enough arrangements including security were made by University administration on the especial instructions of the worthy Vice Chancellor Dr Nazir A. Mughal.
Moreover, the Vice Chancellor Dr Nazir A Mughal was present with his team throughout the test. He visited the different blocks of the arts faculty and inquired the candidates regarding the test and facilities provided them by the administration.
He was accompanied by Registrar Mohammad Nawaz Narejo, Dr Abdullah Dayo, Bashir Ahmed Shaikh, Dr Naeem Tariq Narejo, Dr Abdul Sattar Almani, Saleem Junejo, Dr Abida Taherani, Professor Ghulam Ali Jareko, Nanak Ram and Professor Ghulam Ali Buriro.
In his inaugurating speech, the Vice Chancellor Dr Nazir A Mughal said those who succeed to seek admissions in the University, will not be allowed to spoil the peaceful atmosphere of the campus; they are therefore advised to stay away from politics and to pay full attention towards their education in the varsity.
He said his University is providing higher education with complete democracy and freedom but it does not mean that the students should be agitating on others agenda because democracy does not allow to violate others rights but it lays some responsibilities on our shoulders.
Dr Mughal urged on the parents to look after their children during their study in University and feel free to contact with advisors and Registrar to get information of results and studies of their offspring.
He advised the candidates to maintain discipline and to ensure rule of law so that success may surely kiss their feet adding that those students and teachers who believe in politics of agitation have no future.
He addressed the candidates as saying that have you ever seen such protesting faculty members who might be promoted as Dean, PVC and VC for 40 years? “The answer will definitely be NO, so you should study hard during your study here” the Vice Chancellor suggested the candidates adding that those students who indulge themselves in politics, cannot get good future and they are still in the University even after 4 years.
The Vice Chancellor further said that the students should try to pass their 4 or 5 years in the University for building up their future with good character and humble behaviors. They should be quick to apply for jobs as soon as they complete their studies.
In the last, the Vice Chancellor announced that the University will be dispatching the result cards of Midterm tests to the parents of the students so that they should be kept aware of the results of their offspring.
It may be noted that pre entry test was also conducted for the same Programme in Sindh University Mirpur Khas, Badin, Dadu and Thatta campuses simultaneously.
Addressing the candidates on Mirpur Khas campus, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Imdad Ali Ismaili said Rs 135 Million PC has been sent to Sindh Government so that after the approval of it, the building of the campus could be extended adding that with especial kindnesses of the worthy Vice Chancellor Dr Nazir A Mughal, State of the Art Lab has been established and 35 computers were bought for I.T Lab which is fully equipped now.
He said the main library of the campus has also been renovated completely.
It may be noted that for 224 seats of BCS, BCIT, Geology, BBA and B. Com, 300 candidates applied out of them 289 candidates appeared in the test. Besides, the candidates who submitted their admission forms in an attempt to seek admission in International University of Peace, Sufism and Modern Sciences Bhit Shah appeared in pre entry test at arts faculty, University of Sindh Jamshoro.
The result of pre entry test of Sindh University Jamshoro and all its campuses would be announced any time in the evening on official website of University of Sindh.
