Nairobi: At least one Kenyan police officer was killed and 11 others wounded after a hand grenade was hurled on a church in Eastern Kenya.
According to media reports, unidentified men hurled a grenade on church in police compound, killing one policeman and wounding 11 other.
Although no one has yet claimed the responsibility of the attack but the authorities have suspicions on Somalia based al-Qaeda affiliate, Al-shabab.
In July, 15 people were killed in raids on churches in Garissa, and suspicion fell on the al-Shabab militant group.
Kenya’s capital Nairobi and the port city of Mombasa have suffered a series of grenade attacks since Kenya sent troops into Somalia last October.
