Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has directed the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to maintain the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices at the current level till the next hearing of the case pertaining prices of petroleum products.
A two-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing of the case on Thursday.
During the hearing, the OGRA presented the new formula for determination of prices of CNG before the bench.
The CJ also took notice of Dr Asim Hussain’s, the minister of petroleum, interview to private television and summoned the secretary petroleum immediately.
The bench also accepted the plea of the CNG Association to become party in the case.
Later, the court adjourned the hearing of the case till November 19 after Hafeez Pirzada, the counsel of the association, sought two weeks time to submit their reply.
