Islamabad: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader and Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Farooq Sattar Wednesday said that his ministry has send a proposed bill to government on right of vote for overseas Pakistanis.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, the overseas minister said that if the government would not table the bill within 15 days, MQM would table it as a private bill in National Assembly.
The MQM leader said that the prime minister should clear his stance on giving the right of vote to overseas Pakistanis.
“The Supreme Court of Pakistan should order government to include names of overseas Pakistanis in voter lists,” he said adding that method of casting ballot should be devised with the consultation of election commission and political parties.
