Islamabad: Mian Israrul Haq has been elected as president of Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan, the elitist body of lawyers in the country, according to unconfirmed reports.
Israrul Haq took lead from Lahore, Multan while from Karachi and Hyderabad, Bahawalpur Ahmed Owais was taking the lead.
The main contenders included Israrul Haq, backed by senior female lawyer and activist Asima Jahangir, and Ahmed Owais, backed by king maker Hamid Khan.
