Islamabad: A website linked with Al-Qaeda says attack on Pakistani teenager Malala Yousufzai is ‘just a drama’.
“It’s a plot to strengthen the Global Crusade against Muslims,” it adds commenting that ‘it [Al-Qaeeda] is not against girls education but against secular education system.’
The statement has severely criticized Pakistani and international media over their coverage of Malala, a girl from Pakistan’s North Western province, who was attacked 11 days ago.
“Until any authentic media outlet of Tehrik Taliban Pakistan (TTP) doesn’t give any statement about attack on the girl and it’s after affects the whole act is suspicious,” it said.
The site naming Ansarullah attacks BBC saying most of the statements regarding TTP’s claims of accepting responsibility of the attack were aired on by this British media giant.
“In these circumstances, TTP couldn’t be held responsible for the attack as it would be unfair, dishonesty and an attempt to conceal the truth.”
Confirming Ehsanullah Ehsan as TTP spokesman, the statement says no Al-Qaeda or TTP media outlet or website has issued yet any statement regarding the attack.
The statement specifically targets national and international media saying they have already lost authenticity and trust for “editing statements of Mujahideen to air on only certain parts and leveling false blames against them to gain benefits.”
The website says it is necessary to dig out personality of Malala before answering any question that has emerged after the issue.
“A Jewish filmmaker Edam B. Ellick stayed at Malala’s house during Swat operation in 2009,” the statement alleged and added that the teenage girl and her father met with US ambassador, state secretary and military officers urging them to clean the area from Taliban.
“Public response on Malala’s attack was natural but the way this incident was promoted reveals evil designs of unseen hands behind this incident.”
