Dubai: A Dubai-based group is planning to construct the $1 billion ‘Taj Arabia’ which will be a replica of the Taj Mahal, a report said on Friday.
The ‘Taj Arabia’ will comprise a 300-room five-star hotel along with seven Mughal architecture-themed buildings consisting of retail and residential elements in FalconCity of Wonders, Emirates 24/7 reports.
The report says that the infrastructure of the project is ready and the Link Global Group is ambitious to complete the project by 2014.
“The project will have wedding boutiques, a gold jewellery souk and a banquet hall to accommodate 3,000 people, while the promenade will have eateries, bars and lifestyle outlets,” the report quoted Arun Mehra, the director of the company.
Taj Arabia will be three times bigger than the original Taj Mahal, he added.
Mehra says the company has funds in place to start construction. “We have private investors who are backing us,” he said.
