Colombo: Pakistan women’s cricket team skipper Sana Mir has said that the win against archrival India is most memorable moment of her career.
The women beat comparatively much better India by one-run in thriller on Monday in a group match of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
“Although we were not favorite for match but our fearless effort has helped out to win the contest,” Sana Mir told reporters in a post match press conference.
Pakistan chose to bat in the match but only three players Sana Mir with 26, Nain Abidi’s 25 and Asmavia Iqbal with 10 made double figures.
“The credit goes to the bowlers who defended a low total on pitch which was a batting friendly,” she said and added their bowlers had defended 65 runs total during West Indies tour in this year.
Chasing 99 runs target, India also struggled for a significant contribution with the bat and made 97 runs in 20 overs.
“However, the win is not enough for us to reach into the semi-final but a success against India will improve the women cricket in Pakistan,” a report quoted Sana Mir as saying.
“The win against India has also proved that winning the Asia Cup was not a by-chance.”
