London: In a revelation which underscores a glitch in Apple’s newest version of its iOS operating system – iOS 6 -, several posts on MacRumors’ forums show that iPhone users are apparently receiving wrong weather reports from Siri voice assistant.
“Going by a number of reports on tech sites and forums, along with the results of some tests carried out by reporters themselves, inaccurate weather forecasts – including those for several big US cities – are being given to iPhone users by Siri,” Top News reports.
According to the reports about the issue, the most notable of the wrong weather data which iPhone users are receiving from Siri includes that for New York. When iPhone users ask Siri about New York weather, the voice assistant does not provide forecast for New York City; instead it gives information about the weather conditions for a small unincorporated New York community in Henderson County, Texas.
About Siri’s inaccurate reply to queries related to New York weather, one of the iPhone users said in a complaint: “I live in New York and every time I ask it for the weather it gives me the forecast for New York, Texas.”
In addition, what is even more perplexing about the glitch is that when users seek more information by tapping on the Siri weather results, they are moved into the Apple weather app, where they can finally see the correct five-day weather forecast for New York, NY!
