Islamabad: A Pakistani Student, Muhammad Usman Proves Internationally his Innovative Intelligence. Muhammad Usman has recently completed his BS Geophysics Degree from Bahria University, Islamabad.
His research has provided an opportunity through and proved that rising temperature is also increasing the earthquake frequency in northern, upper Punjab and shelf areas of Pakistan. Recently, he was invited and fully sponsored by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and other sponsors and co-sponsors to present his research in an international workshop “Terrestrial Ecosystems under Changing Climate” along with other eminent scientists and researchers from China and different countries of the world.
This event was organized at Fragrant Hill Empark Hotel of Beijing (China) on 2-5 September 2012. The topic of his presentation was “Depth wise Seismological Response of upper Punjab Resulting from Expected De-glaciations in Northern Pakistan” and his work and idea was highly appreciated there. Currently, he is trying to highlight those areas which can be more disaster prone in future (as a result of climate change) so that we may be able to respond before the arrival of disaster not after its arrival.
Muhammad Usman also won 1st prize in “Student Research Paper Contest” organized by Annual Technical Conference (ATC 2011) in Sarena Hotel, Islamabad on 21-23 November 2011. It was hotly contested competition having representation from leading universities of Pakistan.
