Karachi: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has instructed again cellphone users to get your SIM registered on your CNIC number, otherwise, you will be get in trouble.
It said that users of the cellphone make sure that they are using SIMs that are registered on their name instead of somone else.
In a public notices issued, the authority asks users to use 668 SIM information and update their SIMs record. Accordingly dial 668 and check SIMs activated on your name or someone else. The SIMs should be blocked if these are not active on your (user) name.
PTA laws said that cellular users will be held responsible under law if the SIM under his or her name is used in punishable offence therefore users are liable to block the SIM within 24 hours to the concerned operators if it is loss or theft.
All cellular subscribers are responsible for the SIMs that are registered on their name, which shall not be misused for any fraudulent, unsolicited and obnoxious communications.
According to PTA’s  regulation, the cellular subscribers shall be entitled to purchase maximum up to 5 SIMs of one operator provided that the data are verified properly, otherwise unverified and unnamed SIM will be blocked.
